Are the stone formations of Beli Plast megaliths or natural rock formations?
What indicates that the stone formations are actually man-made megaliths is not so much the stones themselves but the surrounding sites. The megaliths of Beli Plast are actually located on top of a pyramidal formation which is heavily eroded like most sites in the Eastern Rhodope. And there are other similar pyramidal formations nearby.
The other other indication is the fact that these mushroom shaped stones are a one-off. If they were a natural occurrence we would see similar stone formations in the region. But we only see these megaliths on the South side of a pyramidal formation. There are no other such rocks in the area.
The Rhodope band of megalithic sites
Beli Plast is located in the Eastern Rhodope in South-East Bulgaria.
The neighbouring sites
Beli Plast is one of many megalithic sites in the immediate vicinity. There are also many more megalithic sites in the Eastern Rhodope region. Many of these sites have not yet been visited and added to the inventory. Some are already inventorised:

- Dolni Glavanak
